Primarily known for comic roles, June starred in several radio comedies in her early career, swimming paired male comedians, like Frankie Howerd and Tony Hancock. She was in the BBC radio series Take It From Here as Eth, Ron Glum's fiancee; & occurs as long-standing participant in the topical series A News Huddlines by using Roy Hudd.

June is one of a pack surviving stars of the Carry On films, appearing in quartet of the moving picture. She is better known, nevertheless, for swimming a wifely half of a partnership using Terry Scott in BBC sitcom Terry And June, which initially began under a title Happy Ever When & ran from either 1974 until 1988 (though the cognomen for the few were changed for the relaunch of the fresh title).

The minor parody of this title was concoted by Julian Clary for his Channel 4 sitcom Terry And Julian, & June was recruited to play the role therein.

Around other recent days, she was personally sought out by writer Jennifer Saunders for her sitcom Absolutely Fabulous to play lead character Edina's mother. She hwhen too appeared as a housekeeper on Friends and was acclaimed for her performance as Miss Marple on BBC Radio 4.

June was awarded by using an OBE in 1985 for services to her profession and the CBE for similar reasons 13 years late. She was married to husband Tim Aitchison for 45 years until his death within 2001. Their daughter, Suzy Aitchison, is also an actress.

She occurs as supporter of AFC Wimbledon, and a President of Carlton Dramatic Society.
